Xiaomi 18T and 18T Pro said to feature MediaTek Dimensity chips and 200MP

Xiaomi is reportedly continuing development of its 18T and 18T Pro smartphones. According to a post shared by the leaker Smart Pikachu on October 24, these new models will feature a medium-large screen design, are equipped with MediaTek Dimensity chipsets, and are currently testing a 200-megapixel Leica imaging system. The series is expected to launch before Xiaomi’s mid-year 618 shopping festival in 2024.
The focus of the 18T lineup appears to be on refined image quality with a balanced screen aspect ratio described as “not too wide.” This follows Xiaomi’s pattern with the T series, which began reaching the Chinese market last year starting from the 17T and 17T Pro models.

For context, the Xiaomi 17T sports a 6.59-inch OLED display at 2756 x 1268 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra chipset, combined with LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4.1 storage. The 17T Pro features a larger 6.83-inch OLED panel with a higher 2772 x 1280 resolution and 144Hz refresh rate, powered by the Dimensity 9500 chip and the same RAM and storage technologies.
Based on previously discovered information regarding the Xiaomi 18T series, early database listings confirm the development of both the standard Xiaomi 18T (internally codenamed “sanjose”) and the 18T Pro across Global, Chinese, and Indian variants. The most significant finding from these identifiers is a major shift in Xiaomi’s release cadence; the model numbers’ prefixes (2701 and 2702) suggest the company is moving away from its traditional autumn or spring cycles to target an accelerated Q1 2027 (January/February) launch window.

While the exact Dimensity chip rumored for the 18T and 18T Pro is not specified, the ongoing use of MediaTek’s high-end processors suggests Xiaomi’s continued partnership with the chipset maker for this series. The introduction of a 200MP Leica camera module indicates a significant upgrade in imaging capabilities, likely aiming to improve photo detail and color rendering.
At the moment, Xiaomi has not confirmed any technical specifications, launch timing, or regional availability details. The report centers on China, where the previous generation was launched.
